DIY Tank Trim Dress Up
One of my favorite features on the GV650 is the look and riding feel of the gas tank. However, I think they overlooked one thing about it -- that homely lower seam that floats over the external frame. I just recently remedied that with a few bucks worth of door edge trim picked up at my local Pep Boys FLAPS (Friendly Local Auto Parts Store). It just pressed in place and couldn't be easier to install (and I did my front fender with it as well -- as I mentioned elsewhere on this site).
I wouldn't be a bit nervous about using it on a bike, I have quite a few feet of it on my VW Thing that has been installed for about 4 years now and my VW is no toy, I drive it every day!
